Feasibility analysis of application of surface water-source heat pump systems to an ecological residentialquarters in Chongming area

Based on the geographical advantage of the residential quarters locating near the Yangtze River, analyses the technological feasibility of applying water-source heat pump units as the cooling and heating sources of the residential quarter, and makes economical comparison among the three schemes of water source heat pump units, gas-fired boiler plus electric refrigeration units and air-source heat pump units. As a result, the water-source heat pump unit is slightly higher in initial investment, lower in operation costs, and the reclaimed period is shorter. Therefore, for the ecological residential quarters, it is feasible in technological and economical aspects to apply water-source heat pump units as cooling and heating sources.
